Demitri's Feast

Here's a few snaps of a commissioned paste-up I did for Demitri's Feast on Swan St in Richmond last month. Amazing food, great coffee and an ever buzzing atmosphere. The French Toast will not disappoint!

Gav Barbey - Until Never

So after what seemed like a long couple of months of going to my own openings I finally got out of Collingwood and headed into Until Never on Friday night for Gav Barbey's show HATE LOVE.

The first thing to check out were two rather large blocks of ice with layers of pigment beautifully melting on the kerb, then upstairs the walls were lined with small works - each a final product of ice and pigment melting on the paper. The wall was lined with completed works, whilst on the floor were a number of works that were in the making, the artist having obviously set them up during the opening (yeah, I got there a little late... apparently you can't take the name of the gallery too literally).

The show is only on until the 18th, so if you get the chance it's well worth checking out.

Black & White vs Colour

Group show curated by yours truly.

Off the Kerb Gallery teams up 16 of the country’s finest to thrash out the age old question of black & white or colour!

Bec Winnel, Sarah Beetson, Drew Funk, Robert Jenkins, I & The Others, Jack Douglas, Steve Leadbeater, Caitlin Rigby, Ed Wakeham, Eleanor Yap, Kubota Fumikazu, Lwnski, Yiyi Wang, ERo, Madelynn Holmes, Belinda Suzette & Mark Alsweiler come together to have a visual battle on the subject of black & white vs colour.
With a common background of design and illustration, the challengers use a wide variety of materials and techniques including painting, sculpture, wheat paste and print to wrangle out a champion of visual superiority! Laying it out across the gallery and within their own frame, you be the judge of who takes the flag!

Making a special appearance from the future Bados Earthling will be returning to the present on opening night, to give rise to his unique form of street art, called Performance Graffiti. The crowd will be provoked to participate in Bados Earthling’s fusion of performance & street art.
